I’ve been good at putting words on paper (or the web) since I was in high school. Just recently I’ve tried my hand at moving from technical writing for my profession to creative writing for fun and profit!
I’ve been writing technical documentation, presentations, and user training manuals ever since I’ve been professionally employed as a developer. Recently, however, an experience I went though made me decide to write on a more personal level. In 2017, my wife and I underwent bariatric surgery in order to help us lose weight. The experience was a mixture of frustration, anxiety, and, in the end success.
During the ordeal, I joked to my wife several times about how I was going to need to write a book about everything. It started out as a joke, but the more and more we talked and the more frustrated we became, the more I realized it was a story that I should actually put down on paper. My book, “Bariatric Surgery: The Best and Worst Decision I Ever Made,” was born. It’s currently available on Amazon, and, as of this writing, has over 4.5 out of 5 stars.
I’ve heard from several people that it’s helped them with their own decision on whether or not to have the surgery, and, to be honest, that’s the best kind of review… stars or not.
